Sand casting, also known as tumbling casting, has the advantages of low cost and adaptability to a wide range of metals and alloys, the advantages are that we produce complex shapes quickly; the disadvantages of sand casting are that the sand molds need to be re-cast after use, and rough surfaces of the castings may require subsequent machining. Sandblasting allows the production of castings of varying thicknesses and complex shapes.
